The thing is, there are people who autox in VA. They would show up to take Remjob's place. All we have to do is promote it in their forums, email lists, etc.

And I would MUCH rather go to VMP than to that POS site in Charlotte. It's big enough, the surface doesn't cause terminal understeer around every corner and you don't have to sit in traffic for an hour every time you go to or leave the site.

So the 29th & 30th would be good because the race would probably impact turnout, right? Any objections to these dates for "NCCAR-F Autoxtravaganza", EV, and points event Sunday.

Also, could we gauge interest in heading to VMP for the last points event perhaps? Folks that went to the Chillycross this past weekend had a great report about the site, the grip, facilities and it's capabilities for course design. The downside is that it may be a touch further which might hurt the numbers.

Any thoughts?

VMP used to be on our schedule in 2002/2003 and we had good turnout. I know I would try to go.

This I can agree with.

This just in -- http://www.autoweek.com/article/20120118/ALMS/120119828 --
which means we'll get exactly one chance to see the Pigout LMP1 in action at VIR. Except .. Grand Course. Doesn't that mean they won't take the uphill esses at ridiculous speed?

I know it's hard to put together an AX schedule. So if I have to make a choice between two entertainment activities... I'll have to make a choice. No real problem.

Grand East includes the uphill esses Art. it drops into South Course on the backstretch and returns before T14.

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that's not in love with Z-max. That's definitely not a site I plan to visit again if it's the forecast is predicting anything below 60°.

Wow, i am suprised no one liked z-max. I loved the place, yes it was cold and there was little to no grip but i like the courses. All though the bruised ribs did hurt from that weekend for a while.

Sounds like the people who do track and say "I like driving in the rain". WTH? What car guy wants less grip and less speed? D1 doesn't count.

I liked Z-max also. Grip is low, but the site is HUGE.

I had a terrible time at Zmax in the summer my first time there to enjoy what 95 degrees on a dark surface, first time 'plowing' the front end of the Civic in two seasons, and Bud Light hangover) and wasn't ready for the 'Greenville grip' (rip G-Vegas), let's be honest - it's close, but when you realize it and adjust it's not THAT bad the second time out.

It's like a pivot cone, when you realize everyone has to deal with it, you become a little more patient (fast) getting through. There is something magical about a place with awesome grip though and if it doesn't induce to much tire wear = double win. (::cough:: NCCAR :::cough::) 8)
