As much as I want to get a different car, I think Sally and I will be back next year in the Celica GTS. Final classing is undecided, but if all goes well the SCCA is going to bump the GTS into GS. If that happens, we are going to buy fancy shocks and keep good race rubber on it.

I'll run Pro class, but Sally hasn't decided on Pro or open class.

If the SCCA doesn't do us a favor, I'm not sure what the plan will be next year. I have enjoyed saving money by using Falkens all season, but I sure do miss running on Hoosiers. I could always keep dumping money into the old Celica and try to compete in Street Mod...

2 words: Turbo Miata.

In reality, probably not next season, due to $ limitations. Though I bought this car for HPDE only, it looks more and more like it will see regular auto-x duty. CSP here I come.

I'll in most likely-hood be retiring the Cavalier after this season. I might just do something 'Impulsive' and buy a new(old) car. So look out there might be a 'Storm' on the horizon. Yes I'll still run street tires, just in another class.

I keep saying I am going to buy a new car but that is most likely not going to happen in the near future. I keep dreaming of the day I can autocross a car with more than 106 crank HP.

Probably going to concentrate on more seat time and trying to make each event. 8)

Do a few SCCA national or divisional level events and bring home some trophies... and I guess whatever else is required for the car & driver to accomplish that. Or, maybe I'll just do local stuff again like this year, and spend those hundreds of dollars on more HPDE's at VIR...

Oh, and keep Aaron in his place, of course. 8)

2 words..... Fuzzy Dice :word:

Actaully Poly bushings are the only thing I am looking at this off season. That would include some cool offset bushing to get a bit more Caster upfront and bushings to reduce the rear active toe change under braking/acceleration (Why Mitsu designed the rear suspension like this baffels me).

I was thinking about some fancy pants coilovers from Japan (JIC Magic) but just didnt see the need, Konis are working good right now. Plus 2K is a bit more than I need to spend right now

Other than that, I plan on finishing Fred Puhn's book and actually applying a little science to my suspension setup. Maybe tweak the spring rates a bit higher, definitely add more - camber (only got 1.7 right now  )

Pimpin' the fuzzy dice at an autox near you :redcool:

Don't bother. Take the Konis off this offseason and send them to KONI to get revalved to your liking. Talk to Lee Grimes (I can probably get you in contact with him if you'd like).

I had this done to the GS-Rs shocks this season and the car is unbelievable. Ask Nicholson or Whitney. I can't believe I waited so long.

As to my own plans, I'm going ITS racing but won't run the entire season since the house needs work and this stuff costs SO much money. For autocrosses, I might bring Mom's MR2 out occasionally, or try the $1000 BMW out (it's not very good). One of these days I'll pay off the truck, get a new car that doesn't break all the time, and autocross that.

Let's see... I have the following parts sitting in my garage for install:

1. Ground Control Coilovers
2. Koni DA shocks
3. ST rear adjustable swaybar

5. Alternate ECU
6. Hotchkis Camber Correction Links
7. Straight Pipe Exhaust
8. Mad Bling graphics
9. New Wheels and Falkens
10. New clutch

I knew I could get him to talk...

So, when do I get a fun run in the "new" Celica? You gonna be there when we're setting up for the school on Friday?

My co-driver and I might both be down there for the setup. It's getting aligned that day at 1pm, so if all goes well, it will be ready to rock. We've got to shake it down first, but during fun runs of the autocross or school, you can give it a shot. I should be pushing 185hp at the wheels, and putting every bit of it to the ground. Sound entertaining? :) - AB

Hmmm...

2500 lbs with 185whp vs. 2800 lbs with 125whp

Maybe we should switch the location to Sanford - or bring a few sand trucks out to Laurinburg. Sound fair enough?

How about this for you? The car will actually be just under 2400 lbs.. I think Laurinburg is the perfect venue for the unveiling, don't you think? - AB

very nice aaron. STS will never be the same :)

I'm waiting on SCCA to decide my plans for next year. If STX becomes a national class, I will get the shocks revalved in my car, go with that higher rear spring, falkens and not touch anything else. If STX is kicked to the curb though, AS in an STi will be the way to go
