Thanks guys. I will put you down as 3 of my grid stewards so your work position will be taken care of.

For those that didn't make the trip down. Here is a video of the course from this weekend.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOKEgzcS9SE&feature=g-upl&context=G244bc38AUAAAAAAAAAA

Day two is about 2 hours from beginning. We have several members in the challenge rounds for today it should be quite interesting with the changing conditions.

The course map looked like it would be fast but damn. I imagine a lot of the cars were using 3rd.

Nice driving!

Never needed third. The hp course it was yesterday sure changed in the rain today! John Brown in an STS Miata won taking home $1000

No, but a little horsepower or torque would have been nice. :?

Seriously, with that many digs, followed by that many high power straights, low hp cars didn't stand a chance. Today was interesting to watch on ustream. Glad I didn't have to stand out in the rain all day, but would have liked to have been in the shootout. :(

This coming week will be interesting on the sandbox and sccaforums, getting feedback on how people felt about it.

Agreed! We were so close we could taste it. Tuning and finding hp is def needed in our case!

Well what was a hp course yesterday became the complete opposite today in the wet with the final four being Mazda's, three of which were Miatas. The fourth was Brian Guinn in his HS street tired Mazda Protege. The Corvette's struggled a bunch in the wet even on rain tires. I had nothing for the STS Miata in the second round unfortunately I think the index for KM is a bit too much to overcome in the wet.

I am finally home and attempting to dry out after being soaked most of the day, but damn the kart is fun to drive in the rain as even in a straight line it is trying to be sideways.

Yep, the rain was the great equalizer yesterday! Definitely learned something about driving the Elise in the rain (on Hoosier slicks!!). You can EITHER be gently on the gas OR you can turn the car. You CANNOT do both.

So happy to be warm and dry today!!

I had a great time even though I was well off the Pax pace compared to Keith and a bunch of other cars (Pax'd 28th on what looked like "my course"). Lots of full throttle on Saturday. None on Sunday on slick slicks. I might have had the slowest run in the wet that didn't involve stalling or multiple spins . . . and it wasn't even raining during the first heat . . . just fully wet. It was a great event despite some first event issues. I recommend the format. The car that "almost won" the $1000 was a random draw HS car on regular street high performance tires.

I'll post a video once Race Technology tells we why the software won't export the video like it used to.

Dick,
It was good to see you out at a *biggish* event. I like the format too, and the possibilities for the series. Hope things work out for it.

Gwen
