I ended up going 800/700 2.25" springs, 7" front and 6" rear. Speaking at length with Penske, they thought that a longer spring at a higher rate could result in bottoming out the lower spring perch.
Yeah, I was thinking 8"/7" with 750/(650|600) would do it since the rate is a bit softer. Though Lee at Koni told me the circlip can be put in multiple positions and hence the sleeve can move as necessary so I'm probably overthinking (what else is new).

I'm a bit surprised to see you guys locking up these double a-arm suspensions with stiff springs?

What does the wheel rate end up being with a 750lb spring?

As Steven said the motion ratio is around 0.7 on the S2000. I liked the car with no rear bar as it allowed for better rear traction while the car was still laterally loaded. I never got to experiment but I do know one other guy who I was working with on setup kept going with less front bar and more spring. He was up to about 1,000lb front springs and said the car loved it and never worked better. My car on 850/700 rode wonderfully on the Konis going down the road so no regrets with that. I had my car lowered about an inch lower than stock ride height.

I have a picture of my car on the 850 lb front springs with the nose almost dragging the ground on corner entry when I am on the brakes and initiating turn in.

Hey, I'm here to foster that kind of overthinking, right? I got my front suspension graph and rough camber curve done..I'll bring them to the meeting for your review.

What did you run with the Koni's? Ground Controls? Did you just use the stock tophat? And I forget, did you have your Koni's revalved?

Yup I went the easy route of just getting a Ground Control kit with my specified spring rates. I used the stock tophats and my Konis had been revalved when I got them new from Koni to their autocross valving when I was running stock.

Did you order directly from GC? Were they willing to work with you nicely, or were they a PITA? The last time I ordered (About 7 yrs ago), I swore I would never touch their stuff again. But I've heard that their C.S. has been improving.

Keith, do 2.25" springs work with the stock tophats?

I ordered direct from them and they were pretty easy to deal with. I had no complaints and everything was shipped in a timely manner.

No clue I ran 2.5" springs on the stock tophats. The rubber piece that comes with the GC kit fits nicely with the stock tophat. Again I was happy with how everything fit together and worked. With that said I had purchased a set of used Bilstein PSS coilovers to have completely redone for the 2011 season before my incident happened and I switched to the kart.

Went with 800/650 springs 2.5" 7" length Hyperco springs with Energy suspension upper spring isolators to work with stock top hats. I think with the DAs, 6 adjustment settings on the front bar, and either stock rear bar, NC rear bar, or no rear bar......we probably have *plenty* of tune-ability ;).

Nice job there Petty. ^

BTW, I just printed out more classes and numbers for this year and STR isn't on the website so bring your own or visit http://www.soloperformance.com/ .

2x "T's" and "R's" mailed = $30 (or 1.5 runs on 17" A6's ;) Ouch! Gotta pay to play I guess.

I spent <$20 for two magnet sheets at Michaels. One white vinyl, one adhesive. Photoshopped the STR on my laptop from a gis photo, printed it a few times at work, printed the Petty 43, then cut, traced, cut, adhered, sprayed clear coat.

Will be better when I get the apex blue CR in a year or two.
