Wow. 7700 miles!! You are not allowed to race, modify, or molest it in any way.

Oh screw that. The car was built by Mazda for showroom stock racing. I am still working numbers on the phone but the dealer is now closed until Monday so discussions will have to wait until then.

Congrats on the purchase Matt! I could never own another black car but more power to you for keeping it looking good.

My brain tells me to keep the Fit and the kart but my heart wants that Miata something bad.

Follow your heart!
Oh, wait. Will that mean tow vehicle and trailer, or will you be driving to Lincoln pulling a tire trailer?

No I would just drive it on the race tires for a while as I am not even sure that I will end up in Lincoln next year and if I do there are enough people going that I am sure I could give some gas money to for them to carry one set of wheels for me.

Yup, Les guessed it. It is a 2003 Club Sport with 7,700 miles. That package gets you the soft top delete, no ac, no radio, no power steering. Oh did I mention they only made 25 soft top delete Club Sports ever. :D. Weight will be under 2200lbs with roughly 150 whp in STR trim from I have figured out.

ummmm, sell the Fit and drive this year round? No AC? Me thinks come august, you may second guess that decision.... but in light that's a kick ass car, the sweat down your back could be worth it

One of 25 Keith? There's something very cool about numbered cars for some weird reason. Good luck with the purchase!

I picked up my STR car today and just spend about 2.5 hours getting it up to my obsessive standards of cleanliness.
It's going to be very awesome to know that at every event this year, STR will have more than a handful of people to race and improved with.

damn Matt, I didn't know you were looking at another car. Sell the civic?

Unfortunately I'm always looking at cars (sure I'm not the only one with the sickness  ) and finally decided to pull the trigger on a something a lot less practical that I've been wanting for about four years. It's been a fun two years with the Civic but it's pretty much for sale now.

Time to find a DD beater for around $5k. Send me leads if anyone sees anything fun and in a manual.

Actually, I know a gal and a couple of guys that might do it for even less.

Nope, I would find a cheap DD with AC to drive most of the time. I am not that crazy.

That's what I was hoping you'd say Keith. ^

NC summers are brutal! I agree with Gwen, go with your heart and turn off the brain.

Glad you stopped by unexpectedly so I could compare AP1/2 stuff in a nerdlike fashion. I thought I heard some obnoxious sounding car coming down the road.

What are your STR suspension, wheel, tire plans Matt? ;)

Jeremy and I will likely be running FRM C3 17x9 with 255 star specs and that tree trunk front bar. Otherwise stock suspension though Jeremy seems to be hunting for deals :).

Keep the kart. I need to chase you until I catch you in PAX in order to have even a small chance of being nationally competitive again. With you in the kart I know for sure that the car is already nationally competitive and so are you. :D

I guess my plan is to burn off these Hankooks by the first event and have a set of Specs on there along with all stock suspension. I do have a rear sway endlink to replace as it's wornout and noisey. That's it along with a front bar most likely.

This is on my wish list though:

James, did you mean TRM's? :

If I replace my suspension, it will probably be with those.
