The sun, water, beach and racing all wrapped up in one. The temps were in the upper 80's with a nice breeze blowing off the bay. With the exception of getting my butt handed to me by my co-driver, it was a lot of fun in Virginia Beach. I would rank that site right behind Toledo's concrete.

Yea, the sand was a little tricky and unexpected. You did not see it while walking or working. But you felt it as soon as your got on the brakes. Fienberg adjusted very well to it. But I continued to have a bad push when exiting the sweepers. Oh well.

The MR2 was so fast and so loud, we had 3 or 4 people come up after the event and ask if it was stock. Yea, the new exhuast makes Aaron's car sound normal. When I asked Jim if it was loud enough, he said it was a close match to the Morgan 8 on course with me :)

Tidewater has some work to do on their run groups and overlap. But what a freaking great site they have. I believe they run there once a month and then have a winter series at the site.

I have seen autocross heaven and it is called ACU-4. OK maybe it's not that great, but it is pretty damn impressive. I'd guess the area they used for the course was about a 700' X 1000' rectangle with the pits on some additional space next to that. Nice smooth concrete but as several other people pointed out it had a light coating of sand on it.

It made a nice weekend get away trip since we headed up there Saturday and spent the night. My daughter thinks it's the best site ever since she got to play in the sand while I raced.

I'd slap my momma, if we could get a piece of concrete that big a little closer to Raleigh. Sorry mom, but I'd have to do it.

Shawn

Pack the wife and kids in the car and tell them you are taking them on a Virginia Beach getaway weekend (Viginia is for lovers). Spend Saturday with them and drop them at the beach on Sunday and go racing.

If that were our site, I would be the most protective SOB in the world about who and what runs there. And after talking to some of their members, that is their attitude. There is SE Divisional there in August.

Jim P., so that is the site where the SE Div is going to be run in August. I was thinking it was somewhere else.

The July date is in Laurens and the August date is at AC4. The only sub-par site this year for a SE Div is in Gainesville, FL.

The Old Dominion Region of the SCCA is running the event in August. That is what the guys up there told me yesterday.

When should we expect to see results posted? Will it be a few days, or check back in a few weeks? I have no idea, just wondering if anybody has experience to share...

One of their members, Mike Cacase, the other S2000 driver, said they were "a little slow" updating the website. Typically a week, sometimes two. He said that if you are on one of their e-mail lists (I don't know which one of the two), they usually send out the basic results within a couple of days.

Ouch. 1.4 sec is a whole lot of time...

I guess I'll have to agree with Tom & let the tires take the blame! 8)
