It was a technical course and I drove like poop. Fun day though.

Here is Zach's fastest run from the passenger seat.

I like how you can see how hard Zach hits the brakes in that video.

As for KA stories, it was the one about the guy who countersteered a lot, and was just barely in control most of the time, but ended up kinda getting it together for the last run. Was about 0.6 or so from 1st place, got a 4th place trophy. So yeah, STR is going to be pretty competitive next year.

I think I used about half the tread that was left on my rear tires.

At work today, I tried really hard to get something done, instead I found myself drifting off thinking about the AutoX at Danville. That was a sweet course. We'll have to remember some of the elements for when we run there next year. Like what's always the case, I ran my fastest run during fun runs, a 48.450. My goal for next year is to bring my fastest run into the runs that count. I also want to go from occasionally fast to sometimes fast. What I liked most about the course was that it was fast, but fastest in a pucker powered cars, not a high horse power cars. Sorry Corvettes. The Miata handled perfectly. I'll check the suspension and re-tighten the bolts, then it will go back to under steering. I had one "Oh s__t" but no real "yeehas", driving accurately really paid off. I can't wait for next year! 8)

That's the second time I've seen that configuration and if the finish is safe (oh, the irony  ) it's a good way to use ALL of Danville and adds the final left hand turnaround before crossing the lights. That first sweeper on the crossover is pretty wide and if done right, gives plenty of room to creep through to grid behind a cone wall seperating the two.

Have we run that setup in the last couple of years too? Can't remember...

Looks like a fun day and I love hearing the S2000's, especially on those open, fast areas between the slaloms, on you guys' videos.

Here is my video. Man driving Jeremy's stock AP2 with a big bar and star specs and 90k mile shocks was fun :). After watching the video, I was surprised at my time. I had some very choppy steering and throttle inputs and I pushed into both turn arounds and I was a pansy through the initial sweeper
