remember, no one had a chance against the Mighty Mouse 89 Civic Si, so moving to STX may be a better move for e36s after the dust settles.

I feel your pain, though..you could have a 2009 WRX, the ugly step-child of Subaru--banished to STU while the equally-competitive MS3 goes to STX... Now I know how Mini JCW owners felt for so long....

Basically creates a new slower ST class for smaller, new cars. Keeps the CRX and Miata away from the Civic and pushes all E36's to STX.

This in simplest terms this is going to suck. Now we have to spend more bucks to stay competitive. I assume in reading this text, it removes the basic ST class where the car mods were minimal. While this opens up options, this also forces open the wallet. However, I have always wanted to upgrade the brakes on the e36…. It may be possible that the existing ST class stays as is, but I didn’t see it expressly listed in the STx reorg.

Brake upgrades are on the table for all of ST*. That will be the major deviation from ST today. It removes the ability to class hop mainly for the Civic Si in ST and STX but the E36 as well. It creates listings just like in Stock and Street Prepared where car X fits in class Y and that's it. The big thing for the BMW crowd is obviously, the ability to upgrade to a LSD.

I have 225/45R15s on my Miata and I'm constantly surprised at how much they refuse to quit gripping. I haven't made it to the track this year, but I haven't had any complaint at autocross this year.

e: I had the same problem as Marcus (plus another one). After I removed the rear bar, I had to figure out the pressure to keep the car fast and heading in the right direction.

You should probably mention that you have RS3s.....somewhat pertinent to the conversation :).

I'd like to contribute this useless bit of info:

I found Dunlop Star Specs to be so awesome over the past two years that I'm on my fourth set between my two cars. I've never driven on an R-S3, so take that for what it's worth.

Carry on!
