Just wanting to see who else is heading out and when you are leaving. I am leaving on Saturday morning and arriving on site Monday by mid day. I will be reporting on C Street Prepared for SportsCar magazine on Tues/Wed and running in F125 on Thurs/Fri.

David, Jim and I will be heading out Thursday morning. A little practice on the tree Friday afternoon for me, Pro Finale on Saturday and Sunday, then we'll be running the Championship on Thursday and Friday. It will be a full week with the courses open for walking all day Monday and T&T Tuesday and Wednesday. Yep, I'm starting to get excited. Keith, that's a great work assignment. Donna Marx reported for one of the Stock Classes last year and did a great job. I'll be working contingency for the Finale and Finish Post for Nats.

Had 8 tires mounted today with more to do tomorrow. Bernie pimped the trailer with an awesome tire rack so we'll carry no tires to Lincoln in the Lincoln this trip. (=more sleeping room for me during the trip.)

See everyone there! :D

Assuming we don't get grounded by Irene, Chris and I fly out Saturday morning. We run Tues/Wed. Although, if it appears she'll hit Hillsborough hard I'll have to stay for work so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she tracks to the east and I'll be able to make it to Lincoln.

We're both driving cars that are quite new to us. Chris will be in a Z06 in SSL that she's driven three times. I'll be in an SS Elise that I've done one event in. So, low expectations for both of us driving in tough classes with little seat time, but it doesn't really matter as those cars on the big courses at Lincoln will be a blast and an awesome learning experience. Plus, there are a lot of good places to eat (and drink) out there, so even if we don't do so well it'll be a fun time. More importantly, we'll be kid-free for almost five days :-)

Sincerely,
Chris Peterson's Husband

It seems that all of our Nationals travel plans must include some drama on the way to and/or way back from the event. Our flight for tomorrow morning got cancelled due to the storm. They re-booked us for later in the day and that got cancelled. The only thing we could get was a 6:12 AM flight out of Charlotte. So, I'm on my way to RDU to get a 1-way rental, which will cost us over $100 for about 7 hours of use.

In the middle of being on hold forever multiple times, our oldest gets sick - enough said on that. Chris has yet to pack due to crazy work stuff, so it's going to be a late night and early morning. Actually, we kind of have to laugh as it seems to be part of the Nationals experience :-) Thank goodness for Grandmas!!

I'm appalled by your statements. I mean seriously, you used to have the lap of luxury when you codrove with me. You never did any driving to/from events and we NEVER had any issues getting anywhere, PARTICULARLY getting home from Nationals.

Sheesh. I was the perfect host, chauffeur, and you even made me hold the piss cup for you WHILE I DROVE because you were TOO LAZY to get out of the passenger seat and go to the bathroom. And don't even MENTION all the times you made me sit out in the toter while you were in EVERY STRIP CLUB we saw. Then you'd immediately call Chris and say things like "we haven't stopped at ONE SINGLE strip club this entire trip." THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE NOW, PETERSON. YOU PISSED OFF THE WRONG GUY THIS TIME!!!

What???? Strip clubs?? Barnes, you KNOW Eric has an "issue" with strip clubs. I can't believe you let him go anywhere near a strip club! This explains so much about the last few years. Barnes, I'm very disappointed in you. It's a good thing we never see you anymore or I would have to stop letting Eric hang out with you!

Excuse me, who are you people. Do I know you from somewhere?

Got here safely, only two hours of sleep, but all went smoothly. BTW, the New Focus rental car we took to Charlotte was pretty nice. Of course, it was no 1988 Buick LeSabre :-)

Hey Chris, thanks for the company in impound this morning. Made being there much easier.

I'm so sorry you had to learn who the REAL Eric Peterson is this way, Chris. It's not fair to you, but it's been eating me up inside for all these many years. The truth was meant to be free, and Eric pushed my buttons with his incredible insensitivity.

I hope you can find a way to love him again even in the face of these tremendous atrocities. Other than his little addiction (and the fact that he's no doubt spent the girl's college funds one single at a time), he's really an okay guy. I know you're a sucker for a guy with a 1988 Buick, so hopefully you two can work it out.
