Kudos to John and Jeremy for this course, it was a hoot. We have to admit though that Kevin Allen had a hand in things and probably helped influence some of elements for the better. Kudos also have to go to Kevin and John for their driving. Kevin really put the smack down with that 57.9 FTD, that was smoking fast, was that really your first FTD? John shattered the event chair curse concept entirely by grabbing the FTSP and 6th overall raw, not to mention also beating me. At least I beat Matt in PAX, can't remember being able to say that in a long time. Gotta also give it up to Liz as she helped course setup as well and for beating all the boys in SM.

Yep. Worker coordinator has kicked another butt. That job is usually only good for one year.

Next year you'll actually have time to think about your driving.

Yes, thanks to Kevin, Liz, Cort, Bobby AND Les for the course help. I now know understand how walking a course and driving are two different worlds. I think after driving we removed like 5 elements and tweaked about the same LOL.

Yep, you put a lot of elements out there and it looks fine (not too tight) when you are walking around at 3mph. But when you are going 50mph, there is a whole new definition of tight :). I had the same problem first time I made a course.

Thanks for letting us help, and then play around afterward. I have to admit that I mainly go help with setup so that I can do some drifting without the risk of being arrested. (And so that I know whether the course is going to suck, and can plan to show up for the autox the next day... or not.)

Les - yeah, that was my first FTD. And I fully understand "PAX SUX" now.

Also, if you and Matt McGrain could stay away from R compounds for the next two events, I'd appreciate it. There's something I'd like to bring home from the X-mas party.

A sweet raffle prize?! :P

Thanks for the reminder, I need to order a couple of things tomorrow from the 'Rack. Seriously though, great driving; co-course designer or not as you still have to make it happen and you did.

and the verdict is.....

Rotor screw backed out in the distributor. Image

$3 tube of blue loctite and a screwdriver will fix it.

Nice job, dude. FTD on street tires is quite an accomplishment! :P

Ryan, did it move toward and hit the electrodes on the cap?

Damnit, didn't look at that. 2 are untouched, 1 slightly and 1 wore down a bit. Looks like the rotor is trash too. Ohhh well, those are the two cheap parts of the distributor.

That's really surprising to me as you've been in the top five countless times over the years as I remember. As for the Dishman cup a quick glance at this years results looks like you are in the lead, even more motivation to buy new race rubber before the next event, gotta keep my dining room table centerpiece.

Well, drifting is not especially fast, and that's what I've been showing up to do for a while. I actually threw some money at the car this time (springs and new tires) and drove to go fast... except for the last run, which I drifted pretty hard. I figured if I could get that close at the other events while sliding around and spinning the tires, why not see what the car could do if I put some effort into it.

It's pretty cool to suddenly be in the race for the cup - I'll be at the next two events giving it everything I have now, instead of just pissing around & turning tires into smoke. Hopefully it will be a close race, because that will make it fun regardless of who ends up on top.

And just to point out the obvious, I'm not really THAT fast, and neither is my car. If a real STU STi (not to mention a real SM STi  ) showed up at one of our events with a national champion driving it, we'd all be embarrassed.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next couple of events now, and hoping my engine doesn't blow up at VIR again.
