Hi everyone, in a few short weeks, our annual V Foundation charity autocross is coming up along with points event #5.

This year we are changing the event format. Both days will count towards points event #5. You can come to both days or just Saturday or just Sunday. Your best time from either day counts for the points event so if you come both days, you get twice the looks. The course will be the same both days.

To mix things up, there will be a couple additional things going on this weekend. First we will have a raffle. The raffle will be a combination of a 50/50 raffle as well as numerous prizes including but not limited to Discount Tire gift card(s) for tires/wheels, free autocross event certificates, free rallycross event certificates, Premium Imports service gift certificates, Blincos Sports Bar gift cards, gift cards to national auto parts stores, V foundation pint glasses etc. After the grand prize of 50% is paid out, the other 50% is going directly to the V Foundation.

Also, there will be both bracket races and general betting going on. For betting, a minimum bet of $5 will be required. Find your competitive friend and bet $20 that you'll hit less cones than him/her. Or that you'll beat them by X seconds. Loser pays. See the bet worker in the morning. We ask that both parties be present during the taking of bets to keep people honest. All proceeds go to the V Foundation. Bracket races will occur after the competitive event. More info to follow regarding bracket races.

Also, V Foundation event pint glasses will be for sale for $6/each or 2 for $10 both days.

Confirmed: Bowie will be grilling some chicken on Sunday. Served with sides and a drink. Pricing to be announced soon.

Please check back here for updates about raffles and special events.

Is it possible to run a different class each day? I was planning to run tire on Saturday and CS on Sunday. I have good excuses, too lazy to change tires two days in a row, tired of towing a tire trailer, and I’m trying to make the Hoosiers last the season on a multi driver car . :?:

This approach would be fine and result in two entries in two days with your Saturday results reflecting one class and Sunday results reflecting in the other. This would be an option to anyone who would want to do such a thing btw.

I admire you folks who can swap tires between days -- if I did that, ALL my runs would be junk while I try to readjust to different tires!

I didn't say that my runs are not going to be junk. Driving on street tires is like driving a different car. I can get my Yeeha on a little more. BTW, we should do what's fun, when it becomes too much work, you know.....

Speaking of changing wheels/classes, I'd love to drive my wife's IS300 on Saturday like last year, but work gets in the way of autocross yet again. I hate when that happens.

Brice, I think that the mini deserves a another chance. At last years NCAC, a guy drove a Works GP that looked like it handled wonderfully. It's only fair since MJ has been driving your 3 all year.

FWIW, Moving the JCW to DS has been proposed in the most recent FastTrack, which will provide spirited competition to the '11 WRXes, ITRs etc and it will likely make it no longer a backmarker in CS...write your letter if you're an SCCA member!

Unfortunately, I have the wrong JCW (R53) but that IS exciting.

I just think it'll be fun to drive a car with power at autocross.
