This is a disadvantage for anyone who can't make both days, or for those who want to run a different class for fun on Saturday. Plus, just changing a few elements (or reversing) can make for a good varied course. Just curious, what was the reasoning for the new format this year?

Just my opinion, no big deal; it's still two days of fun autocrossing, and I'll be there. 8)

James already summed it up pretty much and might I say I'm jealous Mr. Short, 4+ beers in at 2:11 in the afternoon, very nice, wish I was on vacation. The idea of using this format this year was to encourage two day participation primarily. This format has a long history with the club as James stated, the last time we did it was Laurinburg in 2005 which doesn't seem that long ago to me but I guess I'm getting old. Once we started running the NCAC as a two day event this type event format kind of dropped off the table. Before Laurinburg in '05 and before we lost the old Rocky Mount site we used to run a two day event there every year running this format, we also had Hawaiian Tropic trophy girls every year brought to us by Karl Kaufman who was actually at the NCCAR event this year. I even have photo evidence of this somewhere I should put in digital format. That is a tradition I have honorably tried to preserve at least every few years when we host the NCAC, I will not be doing so this year for Jimmy V, I've already spent enough of the clubs money this year. It was also a tradition to have a club poolside party Saturday evening, not sure how the Hampton will feel about that. Photo evidence of this is available here. I'm quite sure the Hampton won't be allowing glass beer bottles poolside.

Bring cans or bring 5 gallon corny kegs and plastic cups :).

Also, Bowie wants to order his food/supplies by EOD tomorrow, Monday for Sunday's on site lunch. Unless there is a surge of preregistrations, I'm going to assume only 60 plates of food will be sold at $6/plate for a barbecue chicken sandwich, drink, slaw, chips.

Those that are preregistered are going to be given precedence if food 'passes' sell out.

During Sunday's raffle, I'm happy to announce that Premium Imports will be offering five free oil changes (you can pay a little more for synthetic if need be) as well as five free tire mount & balance certificates to benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research.

wow, I don't think I can top that kickass picture, but I do have something to offer for the raffle. So, the whole reason I went by flow mini was to talk to them and see if they wanted to contribute to the JimmyV. Jordan came out buying a car just on happenstance.

Flow mini offered us a great raffle prize. Flow is allowing the use of a mini convertible free for one weekend. Winner must be 21 years or older, fully insured and must be able to use the car by 8/21. So in regard to the raffle, BUY TICKETS!!!! It all helps support the Jimmy V cancer research.

Speaking of raffles....

We will need a few special dedicated workers to fill member-only assignments for the event this weekend. We will need someone both mornings to sell raffle tickets and coordinate the betmaking on this *cough* game of skill *cough.* Additionally, the raffle tix sellers will be selling food tix, pint glasses and year-long plaques. I suspect 2-3 people will be needed prior to the event starting, and maybe only one person to sell stuff during the first heat.

Since it might be difficult for the competitors to get to this before the event starts we should probably consider having someone do this during the first heat as well. Les has offered to volunteer a couple of shifts, one each on Saturday and Sunday, but I suspect we'll need two people to coordinate/track&record/collect raffle $ and make payouts.

PLEASE consider volunteering...it beats the &*(!#%( out of shagging cones, and after all--it's for a cure for cancer. What could be better?

I can maybe help out with raffle tickets. If need be I can also bring along my canopy and extra table. What time would this assignment start?

If you can divert your gaze from the bikini clad ladies and that sweet ass DSM you might also notice the pre-millennial THSCC logo on the banner behind me which featured the rebel flag.
