Well you DID beat me, but that PAX thing keeps me alive. I hate to see a good competitor go, but I will leave TIR myself one day for GS.

Until then, bring it on, Marcus!!

If no one wants to join Chris and I, we may have more fun running TIR until some more folks get interested in STU. I think I will have to beat your raw time by 3.5 sec. :( for my PAX to be better than yours. That will be a tall order.

I know there was debate about letting WRX's into STU with unlimited boost modification. I don't know how popular that would or would not be, but that WOULD allow people with common reflashes on their REXs to run in STU instead of having to jump to SM.

Anyone have any thoughts on that? IIRC, Tom was talking about it on NASIOC, and was pro-boost for WRXes trying to play with the big boys.

I am CURRENTLY not ready for that step, but it would be nice to know if exception for 'lower boost/hp' cars would be made so they can fit into the STU ranks. If it was just idle chit-chat I took the wrong way, I apologize in advance.

That was a discussion we had and I also think it expanded into SCCAforums. If you are for this, then you need to write a letter and send it along to the SEB. I do think that boosted WRXs would be a good car to help out STU though.

So, is this something that we would allow at our 'local' events, or are we sticking to the letter of the STU law for the mean time? It isnt a national class, nor will it be until at least 2005, so people can 'play' there without hurting others.

I think more than a few WRXs would show up there to see if they could beat their STi'd brethern.

Any knowledgable comments and concerns?

It would be to the autox VPs, but we could "create" a "THSCC STU" that allowed that even though national rules dont......

Tom-

Can you add a front diff and run STU? That might solve your tire wear issues.

You can add 1 diff in STX, I thought.

I am not an authority on this, but it was under my limited memorization skills that you can add 1-diff IFF your car did not come with one from the factory. The WRX's front diff is open, but the center and rear are both viscous LSD units. I think that makes the WRX ineligible under that consideration. Cars like the 2.5RS's that didnt came with both open diffs could benifit (in STS).

Man, I think I might have to trade Azenis with Tom if I dont get a better camber setup soon. The shoulders on my Azenis are hurting for a more agressive camber setup...

I stand corrected..... I think it was worded different last year. My bad.

14.11 STX

5. Only standard (as defined in Section 12.4) limited slip differentials
(LSD) are allowed on AWD vehicles. For AWD vehicles that did
not come with any type of limited slip differential (including center
differential or transfer case), a single aftermarket LSD may be
added. 2WD vehicles may use any LSD unit.

Scott - Actually figured out that its an ackerman issue rather then a tire spin issue. All the fast 2.5RS and WRX guys are getting more inside wear :) We're not the only ones....
