So quick question…. Are “x” braces allowed in ST class? In reading section 14.2.G it sounds like lower suspension braces are allowed along w/ sub frame connectors. I’d rather run an X brace on the 328 than a strut tower brace. Am I reading this right? I want to run a X brace off of a convertible e36.

Nope. That was one reason I did not run the M3 in STU.

14.2.G is only in reference to strut bars which an x brace is not.

And SFCs are limited to 3 point in both ST* and *SP and *SM....so you'd go to prepared :).

Nope. It's legal for SP and SM. It's a stock part on the convertable. For some reason they don't let you run in ST.

yeah, thought I remember this not being allowed, but since there was some verbage changes I thought it was worth asking. Looks like I'll have to drive smarter to beat Lee in ST this year.

Yeah, as I now know , the x brace is legal in SM because from a DSP standpoint, the convertible comes with one from the factory and via update/backdate, can be installed on a non convertible DSP car. And SM inherits all of *SP bracing rules. If no other e36 on the *SP line came with an x brace from the factory, then running one would put you in prepared :).
