Ok, I don't have much info other than some hear-say that in Roanoke rapids, there are still tornado victims living in hotels, so it might be in peoples best interest to book hotels soon just incase they are full-ish. Both exits 173 and 176 (NCCAR exit) have numerous hotels.

I booked a room at the Sleep Inn at ext 173, its a little further away from the site than ext 176, however there are many more choices for hotel/restaurants. I got a AAA rate of $71, pre-tax.

You have a number? I'll park there over night as well....cheaper than what the SMARTT folks had lined up at 79 a night plus taxes.

How'd you get the AAA discount? I'm trying to book and don't see anything on the website.

http://www.sleepinn.com/hotel-roanoke_r ... mo=gglocal

There is a drop-down titled "Choose Rate" and "AAA" should be in there.

AAA didn't help - guess I had to get a single King for Les' rate and they were gone.

I reserved a room w/2 doubles for Sat night if anyone wants to share a room.

Weird, I can still plug my card number in and see the $71.99 rate for King or two double bed rooms, smoking and non-smoking all available. I am a "AAA plus" member, I don't know if that makes a difference. My reservation is for a two double bed room as well.

I tried this as well and only got a $94 rate for double bed. I have some other infomation at the house in regard to a room from the SMARTT folks. I'll post it this evening, but it's for $79 a night.
