I would have got home by 4:20 but got caught in 15 miles of rubber necking storm damage on I-95. I got home at 5:15 instead :stick:

Thank you Marcus for riding with me and helping me get comfortable on the course today. I think the novice school and all of the really helpful people at the event made my first points autox alot of fun. So thanks alot everybody, Ill definitely be back for some more.

I'm glad we got done in time for everyone's smoke break

Thanks to everyone who helped, including, but not limited to James, Rob, Maria, and especially those who helped even though they didn't have to, like Jason, Graham, Rodney (you didn't see him, but he helped set up the course during the hail) and even our novice student Brian. Thank you also to Keith, Chris, Emmie, and Carl for sweeping a critical area of the course at the last second, that was key. I never would have happened without all of these people (and others I have probably forgotten). What a rewarding day. :beerbuds:

Unintentional, I noticed the reference after I posted but thought nobody in this crowd would pick up on it  .

Fun time for sure! I can't remember the last autocross I did when I got six runs, so great call on that and that was a very interesting course setup with the finish waaaaay on down the runway.

The optional box was pretty interesting and I decided to go clockwise on the first two runs, then took it counter the last four and it was definitely quicker although I thought I was going to nail the last cone in the box each time. Going clockwise just seemed to 'pinch off' the exit making the finish a bit slower. Also, I really liked the first sweeper-type entry into the first slalom which really let you wind up first for a quick 1-2 shift at the top of the rev limiter (I wound out first on one run  ). Come to think of it, the finish was similar going 1-2 out of the box. Was anyone else getting a little close for comfort in relation to the finish cone? Great course with three big braking zones, especially good for novices to learn the try meaning of patience.

I don't think I'll be coming back to Raleigh from Laurinburg via 95 to 40 on a Sunday evening anymore. Plus, there was major gridlock in Dunn where the highway was peppered with tons of tornado debris. Thank you Garmin for allowing me to meander aimless less along 95's backroads with the other motorists not knowing where we were headed, all the while avoiding the standstill.

What a wild weekend with the storms, big thanks to each and every person that braved the elements on Saturday with course design, and this will be one to remember.

Looking forward to NCCAR's debut, so prereg early!

-Matt

Holy cow! Props to Keith Strassel for FTD on street tires! I guess I need to get me some of those tires with the flames on them. My XS only started to get good on my last run

Great job to Brice & Mary setting up the course in the rain. Thanks to all others that helped make it happen too! It was a great day!

I committed to being 100% throttle from the c-box to the exit on my course walk but I still worried about the expensive side every time I rolled through there.

Here was my good run that I coned away on the optional c-box. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgRDgyakHyY&hd=1

I really liked the change that the optional c-box added, even though I wasn't happy with how I took it on any of my 6 runs.
