I used my new GPS datalogger (Harry's Laptimer) yesterday, haven't got all the kinks worked out but on my fastest run my max speed was 60.6mph and averaged 26.0mph.

I was all psyched to use mine, too. Did you set up your course during the course walk, and set interval markers?

I was all psyched up for you to help me set it up! I screwed up the setup and didn't get interval markers. It's not the greatest thing for AX until Harry adds standing start capabilities. I set the start and it would trip every time I was staged, but not immediately (GPS wobble). It also didn't stop until after the finish line (don't know if I screwed that up or not) but it did it consistently.

I have to give credit to my wife for the finish (it was her idea), I thought it was a VERY interesting element, and different than anything I've ever seen. I went through it smoothly on most of my runs, but wonder if I gave up time by staying too wide. It really made you think.

I was trying to make you think on the sweeper too (that was my idea) with some of the cone placements, but when I drove it, I now realize it was just a "pedal on the right section". Fun, but not so much a thinking element. . .

I liked that element and I'm not sure I ever got it right, but I ended up going in shallower than I originally thought I would but slowly and then getting on the gas as I went into it and just letting the back end come around and hook up. I only punted the cone on the end once. If I just hadn't punted that damn 1rst cone coming across the runway after the first slalom so I again coned away my best run :banghead:

Brice for course designer all year! From looking at the video, I have to say it looked like it would have been right up my alley.

I loves the opening sweeper into the 1st slalom. Good for practicing entry speeds.
That lane change was wicked fast!!

I really did like the turn around. It was an odd feeling passing the element then turning back into it. It was difficult gauge car placement.
Nailing the gas all the way to finish had me guessing how much that timer head was going to cost me.

Anyway, great course Brice and Mary.
I'll post some video soon.

Thanks to Ryan Holton for not only doing tech inspection but also doing the driver's meeting (sorry, didn't know you were doing tech when I asked you to do the meeting ;) ). I didn't get any course walks and was just getting to install my tires at 9:45 and had no notes  .

Please, please, PLEASE tell me the drivers meetings will take only five minutes this year. PLEASE. We have a novice meeting for stuff like the cone rule.

(I managed to give a five or so minute driver's meeting once last year, but there were a lot of other members who had things they needed to [legitimately] add, so I understand it's not always possible.)

Someone actually came up to me (sorry I don't remember who) and said "Dude that was the best drivers meeting ever, it was 3 minutes TOPS"

I will admit I wasn't as terse back in the day  My services are always available for all events, birthdays, and Barmitzfahs

Nice pics. This was the best cone smush picture I've seen.

I'm sure it popped right back up in the box. The passenger was actually a student from Friday and I was showing her how to tell when you hit a cone  Since this was my first run, I was also testing the workers at key stations to see if they are watching cones or just admiring my car.
