I can't make it to this event, but I've always been curious - what's the policy on camping at the site? Either RV or Tent. Obviously no open fires or anything like that.

Jameson Inn is currently showing booked for Saturday Evening for non-smoking doubles.

Awaiting callback from Amy.

I just went through the reservation web app and it brought up non smoking double for me.

And I just booked a non-smoking double via the web. With AAA, got the same rate as James secured through Amy. (I tried calling the hotel one morning last week to reserve through Amy, but they were having phone problems)

If anyone wants to split the room, let me know. I'm not planning to come down for the school, but will arrive late in the afternoon.

What web services are you guys using to book.
I tried and it said non-smoking subject to availability.

Again, guy on the phone at the hotel could not offer me a double non-smoking as he would be overbooking the rooms.

Buyer beware...

Don't think camping is allowed at L-burg, but someone correct me if I'm wrong. Never seen anyone camp over night there.

Is this a trick question? http://www.jamesoninns.com/
They are still showing double/no smoking rooms available tonight -- $69.99 is the regular rate, $64.99 with AAA

I'm quite sure people have stayed there in RVs in the past, however I'm not sure what the official policy is.

That's what I recall - seems back in the day, some people over-nighted in a motorhome.
Thanks.

Seems like I was told a couple of years ago that no camping was allowed. That was a different manager though, I think. I do know that Jim Holley stayed there in his motor home a couple of years ago. He's also active in the East Coast Timing Assoc and I think is there pretty often. I'd think a motor home and very low profile would be required to pull it off. jmho
No longer my favorite site, but I'd hate to lose it.

Regarding camping, the obvious next step is the for either Rodney or the A/X VP who scheduled the event to contact the airport manager and ask. I suspect that since the north part of the runway is leased to the military training company, the answer will be no, but we could be pleasantly surprised.
