Attention all you Novices. So how fun was it yesterday? Here is the opportunity to get great instruction, get a bunch of track time and learn to improve your skills. It is THSCC's annual NOVICE SCHOOL :woo:

At the novice school you will have a full day of having instructor led course time. You will get not 4 runs, not 5 runs, not 6 runs - but dozens of runs!!! It will give you the opportunity to really learn good skills and move to the next level. The school will include 2 courses, a morning and afternoon session, lunch, and courseworking tips. If you sign up for the school, you will then have the ability to crush your competition in the Sunday Autocross.

Here is what former students have said about THSCC Novice Schools

"THSCC Novice School helped me become a national champion"

"Until I attended the novice school I was finishing DFL - After the school I was FTD"

"The Novice School was the most fun I can have on 4 wheels"

So Sign UP for the school. Enrollment is limited and we need your participation to make it work.

If you have questions, feel free to ask on this thread or email: axnovices@thscc.com

Instructors, please respond in the other thread

Thanks

Rob

Count me in as an instructor, and I'll hopefully be bringing a few students!

I'm going to instruct Nino Sennati. He let me borrow his WRX rear koni's while mine were being rebuilt last year so I owe him one.

Question, do we try to do one instructor per student or can one instructor work with multiple drivers?

Even though I haven't been able to attain FTD after attending the school...
I'd like to help instruct.

I'll instruct. I still have the record for the most spins in a novice school, 4.

We will try to keep the instructor to student ratio pretty much where you have 2 students. (1/2 of the students drive the other half work) If we have enough instructors they can get enough off time so that they don't get car sick from driving in circles for 8 hours non-stop. There are times at events when I just have to say enough, my head starts to spin and then my car starts to.

So far we only have 7 entries so the ratio will be really good :) I expect it will change and we'll have a bunch more. The idea is to have a managable number of students and enough instructors to have a few extra to give breaks.

Sounds good. So many people have been talking about all these students they are bringing....that's great, have them preregister so we know how many instructors we need :).

2 issues that need to be addressed ASAP. Novice school cap. Do we need to add to the webpage? I vote yes. Webpage details. Currently only the standard text is on the page. PLEASE add some event text so the novices will know what to expect.

This, plus everyone who has said they know students who are coming, please have them at least preregister. They can wait to pay (online or on site) but preregistration is important in terms of getting enough instructors.

I say we dynamically caps the number of students based on the number of instructor volunteers. Maria has proposed 2.5*#_instructors = cap.

NOVICES - Time to get off the FENCE and register for the school. This will be the easiest way to get valuable track time for your money. If you don't register, we won't know how many of you there will be and we won't be able to get enough instructors. Even worse, we won't know how much pizza to order.

So Don't Delay or Procrastinate any more. Sign uP for the Novice School
