Spring Fling this Sunday in Wilminton

Well, technically, Castle Hayne. Just wondered if anyone else from THSCC is planning to be there. It's a nice site, about half again as large as Greenville. Good way to start the season after the T&T last weekend.

I originally planned on being there this Sunday and running in STX, but I am going to raleigh to swap the 1.8 in Jeremy's Miata so it is ready before points event #1. Better use of my time even though I hate I am going to miss this autox, I think NCR SCCA always does a great job with this event.

ya i would love to be there this weekend debuting the new engine but my it just didnt happen.

I'll be running with NCR at ZMax dragway on Saturday. For those who haven't made the trip, it's north of Charlotte in Concord (probably no more than 2 hours from Raleigh) The site is enormous and smooth. They only run there during the off season for the drag cars, so it's sort of a limited run. With weather in the high 60's on Saturday, I'm looking forward to it. - AB

Me too (CCR though

). My folks live 5 min from zMax. It's 120 miles on the dot from Duke's campus to one exit PAST zMax. So if you drive 80mph, it'll only take you 1.5 hours

. I drive 70...takes about 1.75 hours.

I couldn't make it to the T&T last weekend because I was on call. Usually I can schedule my on call weekends so they don't overlap with autocross, but I had already committed to that one before the THSCC schedule was announced.

When you see everyone's videos of how absurdly big zMax is, you might revise that statement

. And if you are in WS for a weekend, it's only a hair over an hour from there to Concord (it's not in Charlotte....so no Charlotte traffic to be bothered with).

ZMax is an AWESOME site.

You can even see most of the course from the back of the grandstands too.

If my car weren't in pieces at my parents house, I would TOTALLY be there.

ZMax looks like an incredible site and would be great practice for the Dixie event.

I will be at Z-Max as well with the kart, complete with new top end on the engine and sticker tires attempting to not get slaughtered in Pro class. For those wanting to see what the site is like here is my in car from last year's February event from the S2000. I am the first run and Chris Peterson is the second driver.

Man, I nailed the heel toe double clutch into 1st on the last left turn on my last run and proceeded to get overzealous on the throttle to push out terribly
