It is a big course and they do 5-6 runs. $35. Should be fun.

Oh god completely different classing rules.

Quote:
1) Engine swap: All engine swaps must be evaluated for new base classification by
the NASA-X National Director on an individual basis, unless a base class for
the particular swap is listed above in 1.2 Base Classifications or in Appendix A.
Please refer to section 1.5.

Ugh.

Yep, you'd probably be your base class plus one.

Believe it or not, if I run on street tires I can stay in my base class and I believe I only have 11 points total. And I could show up with my interior basically gutted.

205 tires -7
MS3 +3
Intake +1
Headers +2
Catback +2
Shocks +3
Springs +2
Sways +2
Bushings +3 (I think)
Points: 11

Bushings are free I think.

I start at C* and because of turbo I get another 5 pts so I start with 12 points :(. But my skinny tires bring me back to 7 and the fsb and dampers keep me in C.

Ugh.
For you, I'd just do points like you did a head/cam swap.

Edit: nevermind headswap is the same and the vvt engine into an NA is not on the approved list. I don't quite understand their update backdate though.

I emailed Jon and he said the course will easily be 60+ sec and 5-6 runs. And like zMax, VMP has rules with local HOAs about start time on Sunday, which is noon, so you don't have to get up too early to make the 1:45 drive to Petersburg. And with a cap of 60 drivers, we should be done at a reasonable time.

VMP is huge, and in pretty good shape, unless it's changed since the last time I was there. Only annoying thing besides the drive is the ripples in the pavement in some places. Stockish Subarus won't care, though.

Yes I did the EVO school there. Great lot. I didn't notice any ripples (though the course could have been designed around them and I didn't see it). Since it is a drag strip and they do oil changes in the lot, there are a few places where there were spills but the course designer avoided those spots (nothing that kitty litter couldn't dry up).

Yeah, if you get a nice run on pavement directly across from the grandstands, it gets seriously bumpy. If it's slow, it's fine. I was there one time where I was pretty deep into the Celica's 3rd gear (around 70mph or so) and it got a little hairy.

That said, other than when it's brutally cold, the grip is pretty good there. - AB

Okay, because I'm stupid -- where would double-adjustable shocks generally fall on the Suspension/Brakes/Chassis page? I couldn't say whether the resevoir on mine is fixed or has a connecting hose without going out to the garage, and it's COLD out there!

What shocks are they? And will the extra 3 points by taking the first level bump you a class?

Nope, you're right, I mis-read and I've either got #1 or #2, so I'm still up a class (just barely). Thanks!

What size tires? And rcomp or street?

You start with a base class of C with an initial 14 points

+14
+7 or +10 for shocks
+2 for FSB
+ or _ (depending on how far from 255mm you are)
+ 0 for street tire or +10 for R6/v710/BFG R1 or +13 for A6

Unless you are really skinny street tires (ie with a large deduction) it seems you are pretty deep into the 20 point range, so you'd run as NXB.
