My son wanted to go play "race car" out in the CRX last night. We were out there about 20 minutes and both of us came back in dripping with sweat. I had thought about doing a couple of things in the garage but it can wait. This heat is just stupid.

Have fun and be safe this weekend guys and gals!

And your car should have numbers that read "NOV" and "Car Number" in contrasting color to your car :-)

You know, that's not a silly question, so let me address to the best of my limited abilities. Steve is a driver just like the rest of us and enjoys tossing the car around. For this one event, Steve has kindly allowed us the use of his talents for heat related issues. I don't think it would be fair to just drop by and ask Steve any and all medical questions you have, including Chris' rash and Lord knows where he may have picked that up!

I ask you to respect the fact that Steve is there to basically support heat related issues for this event only. After this we can let him get back to his normal escape of the day to day events and let him drive.

wow, am I really perceived as being that stiff? :D . Maybe so since I still ain't got no funny comment under my avatar and I've been w/ this club for 10 years, but I digress... But to your point, agreed, but it still brought up a good point and we don't need folks attacking Steve for free medical advice.

Chris,
That rash still won't go away, eh? Sorry to hear that--it can be a little stubborn, especially given the circumstances under which it may have been acquired...

Thanks for the clarification Rodney. Just wanted to be clear that it's not a bona fide First Aid/EMS situation--and shouldn't be thought of as a substitute for taking care of oneself...rather, it's just another way to help folks stay safe.

Another tidbit I learned from a friend this weekend who's a big runner. Donnie and Steve mentioned gatorade/sodium supplements and it's no joke. Purely drinking water all day will leave an osmotic imbalance in cells in your body due to lack of sodium but too much water. A person at a marathon that said friend ran almost died because if this due to brain injury from being overly hydrated without enough sodium.

Good to know. Thanks for all the info and the valuable email. Excited to run and see everyone, but please lets do it safely this time!

Speaking of heat...

Quote:
Yeah, we’re runnin’ a little bit hot tonight.
I can barely see the road from the heat comin’ off of it.
Ah, you reach down, between my legs,
Ease the seat back.
She’s blinding, I’m flying,
Right behind the rear-view mirror now.
Got the feeling, power steering,
Pistons popping, ain’t no stopping now!
Panama, Panama
Panama, Panama

For years, I had the lyrics to Panama wrong. I thought it went like this:

Somehow, "bipsy bopsy" seemed like exactly the kind of thins David Lee Roth would say.

Having watched the 1hr "Biography" episodes last night for GnR and the Crue, well, I'm sure DLR munged the words to his own songs worse than that during live shows, anyway. And yeah, "bipsy bopsy" does sorta fit him.

Loved the story about how he was at the Crue apartment in LA partying after a Crue show and the police tried to kick the door in on them. Problem was the door had been kicked in so many times it just fell...right on DLR's head.

(And yes, I know DLR wasn't in GnR or Motley Crue. He did hang out and party with the Crue guys a lot, though. And probably everyone else.)

The fact that so many of those rockers are still alive is a testament to just how much abuse the human body can really sustain...and Wes is too much of a wuss to autocross because it's gonna be 100.
