in my weekly searching for the next car, I came across a 07 roush mustang 427r at crossroads for some decent money. I looked in the SCCA classing index and didn't find an entry for the 427r. Where would this car class?

Likely SM Rodney, considering that not a single Roush car has ever been classed in stock and it probably doesn't have a stock engine in it. - AB

That is true, it has a blown 4.6 liter putting out in the neighborhood of 430hp. This would be a fun car w/ the modded suspension and horse power, but I'm thinking mileage would suffer just a bit 8)

Looks like a sweet ride Rodney. However, it might be just my naive opinion, but that car would be miserable on street tires :).

Hi Rodney,

I've driven two of these cars in schools. I believe the one a drove a few years ago was a 2007 - that model was *not* enjoyable to drive. The power came on suddenly and the car was hard to handle. Maybe it was just the alignment. I had just got out of a 500+ hp Corvette and the Vette was way easier to drive.

A few months ago I drove a brand new version with the Track Pak for two days. It was much better. It had so much power that during the first session on Day #1 I honestly did not use more than half-throttle. Tim drove the next session and said the same thing to me. The power delivery was much more linear than the earlier model, brakes were good, and it handled really well for such a big car. We all got to the point where full throttle could be reached in limited squirts. We also ran it in the rain and it wasn't too bad. The street tires were pretty good. Still, for autox, a GT or Shelby would be more fun and much cheaper.

Good luck.
