Obligatory ignorant rules question follows (sorry):
If the ZOK suspension parts are added to a non-ZOK car, what other (if any) parts also need to be added? (Origin of question is on p70, Sec 13 of GCR:
"Option package conversions may be performed between specific vehicles
of a particular make and model, but only between confi gurations
from within a particular model year. Such conversions must be totally
complete and the resultant car must meet all requirements of this Section.")
http://www.crateenginedepot.com/store/S ... -C180.aspxIs that pretty inclusive of ZOK parts? If they are created by "contract suppliers" as mentioned earlier (and hence not "factory" GM)would that run afoul of Stock Class rules? I guess I'm focused on the rear suspension support and rear stabilizer bar which seems to be troublesome as it is a suspension piece not allowed per Stock rules, but could be allowed for a package swap.
Would it be better just to get an '08-09 GXP and add aftermarket FSB and adjustable shocks with ZOK springs?
You could get a 07-09 standard GXP roadster or 09 hardtop with manual tranny and do a full package conversion.
Package consists of front and rear swaybar (since front swaybar is optional in stock class you could substitute any front bar), front and rear springs, rear crossmember. Shocks in ZOK and base GXP were identical since GM assumed they would be replaced with aftermarket.
OEM manufacturers often contract with outside suppliers for parts, especially low volume ones. As long as they have factory part #s and were used in the original option package they are stock legal. You may not pick and choose however.
