Get a real patch. I don't want to be working the course when your plug fails. (I did have one leak on a street tire years ago). When you plug the tire, you dig a bigger hole though the the steel belts (which isn't so good for the tire's integrity), and the jagged edges are bound to chew on the plug.
Art, I got a mushroom patch at Perf Chassis this morning....so you won't have to hide in the woods when I'm driving this weekend :).
