Minor correction, but this wasn't Maria's first time chairing an event, she co-chaired with me last year.

Big thanks to all the organizers for sure and those that made the course too. I'd say the new (or old side depending on how you see it) side of the airport is just as much fun as the traditional one.

I know everyone has differnet opinions about the all-at-once run group but I think it's easier to get into the zone and if you have a crumby memory like me, it's a little easier to drop time as you go through your runs.

I swear the last run group grid was super fast and was almost worried about the V710's heating up but that wasn't the case. Albeit, it wasn't exactly a super hot day with lots of sun warming up the course. I think the tires only went up about one psi from cold which was unusual. (< my weak attempt at being a tire nerd)

Also, I liked the idea of having a fast finish that put the timer in a safe spot and the radio to radio sticky label thing we did worked out great although it didn't take into account cone penalties, although you usually know if you hit one.

Really looking forward to the next event but I need some advice talking my wife into coming out to race her DS IS300 5-sp.

do what I did. dont give her a choice. force her, pay her way. and MAKE SURE to follow though with your prommis to try one thing she wants you to try that you would other wise not do. (it works, jessie is there every event and even running the car 5 seconds before it rain's)

The sticky label thing could work with cone penalties as well. I worked the "radio people's times to the finish person" assignment for a while. The high winds made hearing cone calls a challenge, and getting them radioed back to finish was equally challenging. As such, it was probably wise to keep radio chatter to a minimum. On a calmer day, it could work.

To that point, if we are going to run all at once type setup, we could have the corner workers keep a log with cone calls, similar to how it is done at a Tour. It may be overkill, but could be administered pretty easily. - AB

See if you can get her to come to the Chick School. All girls, no pressure, and even if she doesn't like it, it will be a fun day with the girls. The only reason I started AX was to be doing something with Bernie that he was interested in. Look how that turned out.

Thanks for running the autocross Karl & Co. The weather held up and it was quite pleasant until the wind showed up.

Just one question/issue of concern: It seriously seemed like the 1st run group was at least double the size of the 3rd run group. I know it is hard to split up run groups so it's equal across all of the groups, but I saw quite a bit of TIR cars running in the 1st group as opposed to their assigned 3rd group. I understand if there were mix-ups or special scenarios, but it really made the 2nd and 3rd run groups seem vacant.

I think that Tire was intended to run with its normally-assigned class. So, a BS S2000 in Tire would have run with the rest of the BS cars. At least, that's what I remember one of the worker coordinators telling me.

Additionally, I think that we had a bit more "walk ups" than usual, especially in terms of the percentage of the entire event. The preregistration list had 75 people on it, yet, we had 86 entrants. 11 people doesn't sound like a lot, but that's about a 13% change. That's the sort of thing that can throw rungroups out of balance, particularly at an event with a relatively low attendance number.

The above is speculation; I'll let the worker coordinators chime in if something different happened. In the meantime, I'm sorry if the rungroups were uneven. All we can do is our best.

I do know those miscreants Buckley and Hertweck moved from running heat 3 to heat 1 so my theory is that they singlehandedly ruined the run groups. :D

OK, I did the same thing 'cause I'm an idiot and signed up to work the wrong heat. In my defense, the all-at-once run format is *extremely* confusing!

I might have guessed it was some fancy pants "Nationals Guys" who screwed the whole thing up. Figures.

The crazy part is that I wore my regular pants to the event and I *still* screwed up. Maybe next time I'll try no pants...

Bryan couldn't run 3rd and work the end of 2nd heat audit, and while I worked Tech in the morning, I wanted to get out early  Guilty as charged  - AB
