hey, I need some classing help. We have a new member that's finally going to hit the tarmac with us. Alex Haynes has purchased and plans to autox a Mercedes E63 AMG.

I looked at the SCCA web site, by the way, they have some great new docs for car classing. Anyway, I can't decide where this will class. The C63 cars slip into either SS or AS. The only other E class car I see is in FS. Can someone confirm please?

Based on the 2009 stock listing, the E63 AMG would be HS :). It says model NOC are h stock. Obviously that isn't right. Maybe if you browse through the FastTracks, there will be a 2010 update to the solo specs.

I'm guessing though that the AMG would be the bumper out of HS. I'm jus' sayin'

I could see it being classed in FS. IIRC the CTS-V and the M5 are both FS cars. Not terribly competitive in class due to weight and size (and the fact that they haven't been developed by anyone), but that is where they are classed.

He would run in FS under the V8 powered sedans NOC listing. Plus the E55 AMG is there so that seems like the correct place.
