I am sorry that the day ended on a sour note for three of the key players in this past weekend's Coastal SCCA event in Wilmington.
This was their second event in three weeks and they did a great job. My hat is off to Ryan, Kevin, Rob, Vern, Bill and Jennifer for a job well done. I know I have missed some other THSCC members that are putting a lot of effort into getting this organization going. I apologize for that. Feel free to chime in.
They pulled off what every spreadsheet and experienced competitor says can't happen. Nearly 100 drivers on a 48 second course with no overlap. We started around 11, finished before 5 and everyone got 4 runs in. Go figure that one out. It was simply due to their hard work and effort.
They used about every inch of the site to set up a pretty cool course. We ran the course twice per run. Right before my heat, I started to panic, hoping I would remember that I had to take a second lap and I would not get too excited and try to take a third lap, as my friend Ken tried on his first run
The site was about half of the RBC west lot and the surface even made Sanford look good. The safety stewards insured the course was safe and the spectators had great viewing. I am kind of liking having a lot of spectators

Maybe we need a couple of safety stewards?
These guys and gals are putting some good events on. It was nice running in Wilmington. Set the cruise on 85 and was there in about 90 minutes.
