I know its a small, insignificant thing but is there any chance we could cull out the permanent number database?

I am assuming it would just require someone to step up and do the work. I am guessing that would consist of matching up the list against event registration data. If the number has not been used by the owner within X time period then we remove the number from the list. No idea on what the time period would be. I am guessing 2 years or so?

How can you access this DB? I filled out the form, but didn't get a confirmation or anything.

Me! No, I figured Ryan was volunteering! ;)

Regarding process, my opinion is that if someone (other than Ryan) wants to tackle this, I would contact an Autocross VP and work with them offline to make this happen. Eventually this will require also working with the webmaster team to get the file and then replace it once it's done. I am making this up as I go and have not talked to any of the above to get their opinion. :D

I don't remember the last time we culled it- we didn't last year. It's not too hard to do, I just need someone say do it. Usually that happens after all the other lists have been culled, so usually it doesn't happen...

I aint scared of a little work.

For starters, STX 9 David Frankel hasn't been used in years.

It's done. I appreciate the offers, but if you did it manually it would be a tedious and error-prone job. This is what computers are good at. Matching the info in the permnum file to the membership file was not as straightforward as it sounds, though, I'll tell you that. Anyone who was not paid up as of Jan '09 is out. That was about 40 names.

Something is still borked. It says I can't register as STX 9 because David Frankel has that number. Then I click to see all the reserved #'s in my class and it shows both David and I as having reserved STX 9

Sorry for being such a pain 8)

We didn't remove *everyone* who's not current, because it turns out that's about half the club. ;) David was paid up through 1/1/2009, which is where we drew the line for removal.

I don't know how you and David both ended up with the same permnum though. I know I check for that when someone updates their #, but it didn't apparently work right this time.

I've removed David, so you should be able to reg now.
