I'm looking for reputable vendors/suppliers. I hate to drop $100 on a battery that turns out to be crap.

One store that comes up in a lot of searches is

Freshbattery.com

any experiences out there? I found one review, but it only covered 2 recharges (but did applaud the quick shipping/price).

I got a replacement for a no longer available Dell from www.batteries.com. It hasn't burned my house down . . . yet but I don't use it much.

Scott, I'm not asking this to be a smartass - ok, maybe I am a little, but really, I'm curious. I thought you were an Apple guy, and that you couldn't replace the battery on an Apple laptop. Not so?

Smartass ;)

That's just the case on iPods and iPhones. The laptops are replaceable like any other laptop.

iPod and iPhone owners don't need replacement batteries. They upgrade to the newer version and trash the old one before the battery starts to get weak. ;)

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.
