I have been asked by the father in law to find a good stereo repair shop in this area for his Harman Kardon amp that is currently on the fritz. Anyone know of a good repair shop in the area? His is only a few years old, but I forget the model number without having it in front of me.

I can't think of the name of the place off the top of my head. But I beleive there is a place in the 5 Points part of Raleigh (Stereo SOund keeps popping in my head as I type this), that is a A/V repair facility.

Ok, it isn;t Stereo Sound. Based on the map and address, it would be this place. I have no recommendation other than knowing what they do. I think my in laws have used a place in the Oak Park shopping center as well.

I don't know if they do amp repair, but I had this place do several speaker cone repairs for me when I was still in Raleigh. I know they do a lot of repair work and they've been around for a long time.

The place Jeb is thinking about used to be stereo sound. They got bought out by tweeter. I do not know if they still do repairs there. It is at the five points intersection.

Call Audio Advice and see if they know of anyone. They'd be the best bet to help.

Update...

finally got around into looking at this some more.

-Audio Buys number has been disconnected
-Creative Acoustics doesn't work on Amps
-Audio Advice doesn't work on H/K stuff

In the process I got recomendations for...

EMI(Raleigh) - They seem to be out of business, or I can't find a working #
CLS(Durham) - Only does business accounts

I found a H/K shop in VA beach, and Fayetteville, so I guess I might just have to ship it to one of them. I'm suspecting the round filing cabinet in this amps future.

Thanks for all the input though, it appears on one probably wants to touch this stuff anymore...
