Finally got around to getting the Miata all one color. Cheapest quote I could get was from Wayne at Maaco in Cary off 54.
For $346 they repainted a tired '92 red Miata the 2006 Miata 'True Red' color (waaay brighter red). They offered to paint the door jams for $75 a piece. Hey, I'm not made of money, I turned them down.
My expectations were low and were VASTLY exceeded. Wayne was honest about the 1 year warrantee, saying with care it would last 2 years.
I put racing numbers on the car so I got a chance to really inspect most panels up close and personal. No drips, minimal overspray on a few areas. Lots of overspray in the front mouth of the bumper. I spent 5 minutes with some black rustoleum spray paint and fixed most. A couple of little red smears on the soft top too.
They took off all the sticker residue (and there was lots) and the evenness of the paint is really above average.
Again, I expected the worst and got above average. Perfect for the track car.
