My septic system is have some issues and is showing water at the surface obove the distribution box

It is pretty old and I am betting tht the field is spent. ANy body have a reccomendation on a contrractor for this?
Any idea on the cost for a gravity feed tank and field?

Oops, I am signed as my wife. Oh well the question still applies.

You should probably list your location when asking this. If you have a plumber that you trust, ask him for a recommendation on the contractor for this, too. He'll know someone good. If you're in the Chapel Hill or northern Chatham County area I can probably get you some names.

That said, better hope you have room for a second field. They generally can't just replace your field where it is. If the field is spent they'll likely have to get the health department in to get another area perked and such. If your place was built somewhat recently there should be a second field site on record with the health department already. I'm not sure when they started requiring this, though.

Unless you've done it recently, get your tank pumped. The health department recommends doing this every five years anyway. You may just have a buildup in the tank preventing things from moving properly.

Thanks. I am in Wake county between Wake tech and Fuquay

If The soil is good for I should have plenty of space for another field.

I used to drive down Ransdell on the way to work.
I live on Banks Rd, about a half mile towards Fuquay, from Ransdell.
