Anybody have a recommenation for a full service collision repair shop?

I'm sort of hoping I won't need to go down this road, but while I'm waiting on the insurance company to figure their side out, I need to start shopping around.

The only shop in the area I've used before was Paragon on Capital for some relatively minor body work (deer hit), and I wasn't overly impressed.

Thanks!

That wasn't totalled? Wow.

I've heard mixed things about Paragon; I guess that it's all up to the tech that you get there. Colors on Parade I believe is more fender bender oriented than pull the frame square because a tree got in the way oriented. But if you call Lloyd at CoP (919-266-1989), he's done some work for club members (including me) and would steer you in the right direction if he can't do the work.

Colors on Parade no longer has a shop on Capital. I got a postcard from them not long ago stating that they have moved ro Louisburg. Not sure if they are still doing body work (they fixed the front end of the Mustang) or if they are just doing paint.

Might be worth a call though.

I can't believe they wouldn't total the Durango though.

I just used their new shop. They are still called colors on parade, and their website is www.autopaintinaday.com. Like Wes stated, if Lloyd can't do it I'm sure he could tell you who could. He is also a car guy and super easy to deal with.

The new shop isn't too far away, just outside of Raleigh city limits I would imagine. A little east of were forestville and mitchell mill meet.

Goodluck.

Elite Auto Body in Chapel Hill. By far and away, the best body shop I've used.

Now, they're not fast, so if you're in a hurry, I'd find someone else. But if you want it fixed right, Kevin and the gang are hard to beat.

We're waiting for Allstate to figure it out still - the adjuster should be looking at it today or tomorrow morning. I'm just anticipating the worst. I gotta believe it's toast, though.

Anyways, keep the recommendations, coming. If not for me, for the next poor soul who searches for "collision".

All the more reason why I love Erie Insurance :-)

I am not sure what they changed their name to, it used to be Fix and Fly on Westgate Rd. Good guys and did a nice job on Charlene's Impala.

Any Haddock location except Fuquay-Varina. That leaves: Wakefield, Crossroads, and "Maynard" (actually on Tower Drive in Cary while they build a new shop on NW Maynard). This is based on my observations as the Hubcap Heaven delivery driver. The Wakefield location has a very accomplished suspension/"rough pull" tech.

Bob Kendrick has used Capital Collision on Kennedy St. in Raleigh. The have fixed a Lexus, a Mercedes that knocked ther rearend out of a Jeep, and did frame work on Bob's fire truck.

A second vote for Elite Auto Body in Chapel Hill. I needed only some paint work, but I wanted it done right and Kevin left me no doubt that it would be. I was not disappointed.

If they don't total it, I'll go break into the yard and set it on fire for you.

If you can get it to roll, put a Miata emblem on it and give it to Kevin Butler and have him drive it through Death Valley in Greenville.

Well, the good news, so far, is it looks like they're calling it a total loss.

Haven't found out how far they're going to bed me over the barrel on the settlement, or whether I'll get any value from, or be able to take off, the "fuel efficiency" parts I've added, but at least I know I don't need to worry about that thing anymore.
