Where can I get the best price on a set of Toyo tires? I've already talked to Mark and he's having trouble getting anyone to give him a wholesale account. I'd rather buy online from somewhere that will drop ship to Hubcap Heaven.

Thanks,

First of all, I have to mention that one of our club sponsors, Colony Tire, should be able to get them. And it's always a good and wonderful thing to support club sponsors.

Colony Tire
2400 Atlantic Avenue
Raleigh, NC 27604
919-832-7527

That said, last year a knowledgable club member referred me to Vilven Tire, and they shipped a set of shaved RA-1s directly to Hubcap Heaven. I guess their prices are about as good as anybody's.

Here's a Toyo dealer list from the NASA site:
http://www.nasaproracing.com/news/toyo/dealer-list.html

I suggest you search the track forum for more opinions.

You might try calling Mark Cooper at Hubcap Heaven. I think he can get Toyo's, and you might save shipping costs if he can pick them up from the local warehouse. :)

Best internet price I've found on RA1's in the size I'd use (255/40/17) is at Edge Racing (www.edgeracing.com). I haven't bought anything from them, but I've heard good things on the forums, and the shipping charges are reasonable (~$10/tire).

I almost forgot, last week someone on another forum posted a place with even better prices on RA1's - the Tire Shoppe (http://www.thetireshoppe.com). They supposedly discount even further than their internet published price if you mention you race and/or belong to a sports car club, but I haven't actually tried that or even ordered from them either.

Thanks!

I'm actually looking for the T-1R shaved but if necessary can have them drop shipped for the shaving.

try Kevin at MMautowerks. Hes an authorized tirerack installer, but can also get falkens and i *think*ive seen a set of Toyos there, can't hurt to ask. you can drop ship there, too. hes a real good guy w/ the best equipment. he'll do you right if he can get em.

i was there today getting some tires mounted/balanced and it was like hanging and working w/ friends. well except he did all the work :P he showed me all his gadgetry, etc and how it all worked. impressive stuff.
