As many of you know Chris Schimmel of Competition Cages is one of our fine sponsors. Below is a picture of my new roll bar that Chris fabricated and installed last week. He shows great attention to detail and worked with me on my main goal...to make it look good. I know the main goal is safety, but as I'm known for bling I had a rep to uphold ya know! The fit is excellent and it looks awesome. Chris came through with flying colors again...this time in powercoated RED.

If you need a roll bar I'd highly recommend Chris. Again he's a club sponsor and does superior work.

Vincent, that does look awesome. I will be hitting Chris up for a seat mounting bracket once I get my ride going again  - AB

Nice Setup! What's the ballpark cost on something like this? How much extra for the powdercoating? Looking good!

It ain't cheap! $600 for the bar including installation. $150 for the powdercoating.

It looks good, it's fits correctly, it's Solo I legal, and make my car more safe...which worth more than what I paid.

It does look very good Vincent. $600 for fabrication and installation is a good deal. I'll have to check with Chris this winter about building me one. Can you completely and easily remove it when you don't want it in the car? Is it frame welded?

Graham

I never plan to sell this car, but yes it's bolted in, and removable. As far as the easy part, well that's subjective.

Another good word for Chris. He strengthend some steel control arms for the Porshe which required welding. Good job and they held up well at VIR Nth. He also helped me with a minor crisis on a weekend when attempting to get bushings pressed on those control arms.

I have color-matched padding of course. I just haven't installed it yet.

It has adhesive backing so no zip ties are needed. However I will probably hold it in place with RTV. 8)

BUT, I have vinyl to cover it that is almost a dead-on perfect color match to the powdercoat. The pink look is why it hasn't been installed yet.

My padding has velcro on the back too, but around the corners, it still seems to need some zip-tie help to stay on the bar properly. Zip-ties are cheap. Source some red ones and then you won't have to worry about roving padding.
