Does anyone have a recommendation for a long-distance auto-shipper?

I need to bring a car home from CA. I thought there was a discussion on this recently, but I can't seem to find it. I know that many (most?) of the places on the internet are just service resellers, which I don't want to work with.

I'm trying to find a balance between cost and level of service. The only reputable place I know of is DAS - http://www.dasautoshippers.com/ - who appears to be on the high-end of the price scale.

You can ship a car thru FedEx! They are on the higher end of the scale also, but do research any company that you don't know, horror stories abound, some of the biggest are the worst. One consumer site said that auto transporters are the biggest help to the car rental industry. Car transporters are not regulated so you don't have any place to complain to if something goes wrong.
We checked into them when we bought our tow vehicle. After all the research we decided it was cheaper and better to fly out to NM and drive it back ourselves. If you can't drive it it still may be cheaper to rent a truck and trailer or dolly one way.

Yea, that's what I did last time. I'm a contractor without vacation time now though so it ended up being cheaper to have it shipped.

It's on the way home via DAS now. I've got my fingers crossed.

Mini Cooper S - I'm thinking that getting away from hondas for a while will finally allow me to part with the piles of parts in my garage.
