Import Motor Werks has been my go-to for BMW service, and they work on Mercs, but I wanted to see if anyone has a strong recommendation either way.

Thanks.

What did you get?

Based on my limited experience, make sure you find someone who does not mind being leaked on by multiple types of automotive fluids.

A Better Wrench in Chapel Hill. Max, the owner, is very supportive of MBCA and has been working on them for decades. He's also very fair and won't try to sell you work you don't want. Exit 266 on I40, about a mile or two toward CH.

By now you could also hire Karl or Mike. They probably could use the $$$ to pay for their recent and future MB expenses.

Between the two of us we could probably help you figure out what's wrong. What have you got? My area of expertise is the W124 platform. But a lot of that knowledge would transfer to other late 1980s and early 1990s Mercs.

Wonderful cars, honestly. But this thing that somebody posted to my Facebook wall says a lot:

Sorry for the late response -- I appreciate the suggestion. I was about to pull the trigger on an e350 and needed to have it inspected, but circumstances changed and I had to put that dream on hold. Bummer, because the particular car I was looking at hit all my criteria.
