Yup, I agree with Jeremy. A bolt in engine is going to be far easier and cheaper than a rebuild.

I purchased an engine from Japan direct as well for an old Paseo. The one issue I had was I couldn't rotate the engine via the crank, so I took it back. Found out it was "carbon locked". These guys persuaded the engine to turn over and then blast air into to force all the little carbon bits out of it. Got it installed and as far as I know it's still running fine.
