Hey, looking good! I guess it's almost time for paint. I need to do the same thing to my old Volvo. :(

Thanks! I'm taking it to Rocky tonight, and he says they'll start on it as soon as they have it. It was a pretty fun learning experience, and it's turned into kind of a mini restoration, a chance to right some of the wrongs of this car's past. My wife, and many other people, think I've lost my marbles.

The only casualties have been plastic clips. I just ordered about $100 worth of them on parts.com. That sounds like a lot, but I bought some extras just in case, and it's for all of the cladding and both rain rails.

The cost savings I'm seeing by bringing Rocky the car in pieces is considerable. But now I know why. None of it was back breaking or even particularly challenging work, but was VERY time consuming. Some of the quotes I got from body shops seem a lot less outrageous now that I've actually done the work. Especially if I imagine trying to make a living at it.

Rocky does great work and I think it'll hold up to your level of scrutiny.

You're putting in the 2.3 DISI, right? The club's first Mazdaspeed6 wagon?

That's great to hear - I'm pretty psyched. I detailed a white 1970 911 that Rocky painted. It looked like it had just been dipped in whipping cream. And I didn't know until recently that he does paint work for Ariel.

...and Rocky is related to what business? I'm pondering getting estimates for the Volvo.
