Anybody have a suggestion for a *local* place that might sell the following short lug bolt for an old Mercedes? M12 x 1.5 x 22, with an R12 ball (acorn shaped) seat. The shank length is the measurement that is 22mm, and it's completely threaded.

These are very short obviously, and are meant to go on a 1998 or so CLK320 coupe. I have a set of the forged alloy wheels from one of those to go onto my DD, and the wheel face is super thin. So thin that the factory lug bolts for my factory wheels are far too long.

The big parts places don't have them. MB wants at least $7.00 each. The phone number for Tires and Parts in downtown Raleigh has been cut off. Black Forest told me they didn't have them, and rudely told me I was looking for the wrong thing anyway. Haven't tried T Hoff yet.

Jeremy Gast is looking. I can find them on the internets, but was hoping to have them for the weekend. So, any leads on local suppliers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had some luck finding old Z metric bolts at Wilder's here in Raleigh. Big selection, they may be able to help. $7/lug is not too far out of normal range for pricing.

Wilder's Inc
2406 Alwin Ct, Raleigh, NC 27604

Call first, as it may be a bit of a drive from Durham.

*caveat: It's been 5 years since I've used them, so their selection may have changed in the interval.

Check Summitracing or Amazon if you're a prime member.

Either one of them can get it to you by tomorrow if you order this morning.

Thanks Steven, I'll try them shortly. T Hoff has ordered me one of something that sounds promising - he said 40mm length, but couldn't say for sure if that was the entire length (good) or just the shank (not good).

Jason, I found just the thing on Amazon, and am a prime member, but unfortunately, the bolts are not prime eligible. To get them overnighted would be so outrageous that I'd be better off getting them at the Benz dealer.

LKQ or similar you pull it junkyard??

Cost you $2 to get in, and I doubt they'd charge you for the bolts unless you picked up like 20 of them.

Or, some place like Worldpac could probably get them, but you have to have a wholesale/shop account to buy from them- though I understand they are now part of Carquest, so maybe Carquest could hook you up.

DOH! Just noticed how old the last post was- I'm guessing you probably already got this taken care of.

Yeah, I ended up ordering them on Amazon.

The labeling was tricky. Worldpac describes a bolt with a 21mm shank length. That's misleading - the threaded part was 21mm long. There was another 15mm or so between the threads, and the bolt head, that I didn't need. It seems like the 1998 CLK320 with 16x7 forged wheels doesn't exist in the Worldpac catalog, or at the very least, Worldpac doesn't recognize one with these particular 16x7 wheels.
