Is there a shop in Raleigh where I could get some mild steel or preferably chromoly tubing. DOM wall. Need qty 2 of 12" long, 2.00" OD, 1.75" ID, 0.125" thick. These would be used as collars.

Thanks

First thing that comes to mind is Dillon Supply...

http://www.dillonsupply.com/

They have a Raleigh and Durham location. The sell in minimum sizes. So for example if the minimum length is 10', then you would buy a 10' section and cut to length at home. They will do some cutting for you (not super accurate).

If you don't want to buy a large section, there are plenty of online places that will sell you cut-to-spec material. Those can be a better deal on very short or odd sized stuff.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I doubt Chris would have any 2" DOM stuff as even the larger roll bars are only 1.75". I have some scraps of 1.5" DOM you are welcome to, but not any 2" DOM.

Richard if need be I'll call them but 10' min is too much cost.

Steve I thought about Chris after I made the post.

Vincent thanks for the offer. But I need that specifically.

I have a bolt in roll bar designed specifically for the C5 Z06 in there now. The bar is to the spec you are talking about. 1.75" OD, .120 thick to meet SCCA, THSCC rules. The down bars in the rear attach to the roll bar up at the top with collars in their design with hardened bolts. Those collars have 2" OD and 1.75" ID. I need 2 new ones as the ones they shipped are a few inches short.

Found some online places that charge about $21 for 2 pieces the spec I want. Was just hoping I could get them local, cut to size, and maybe talk them into drilling 2 holes in them for me.

I got some from Chris. While he doesn't like to sell it. For just a couple of short pieces he went along with it. So that was cool. I have the rest of my weekend project parts now.
