 Post subject: 2009 EV Challenge... This Coming Friday / Saturday... HELP!

This year's EV Challenge has snuck up on us once again. The event is this coming Saturday, May 16th!

We will need 12 or so volunteers to come out and work the (small) course on Saturday. FREE LUNCH and A FREE AUTOCROSS to the volunteers. Please respond to this thread if you can help!

Jim Pastorious has agreed to set up course, but we could use one more person to show up for setup around 7:30. The rest of the Saturday volunteers don't need to be there until 9:30am. We should be there no later than 1:30, and if previous years are an indication, we'll be done much earlier than that.

As in previous years, this will be at the McKimmon Center off of Gorman Street and Western Blvd in Raleigh.

For those that don't know what the EV Challenge is, this is a competition among middle and high school students to build an electric car and test them out against each other. The EV Challenge hires THSCC to "run" the event for them, bringing in proceeds for the club (especially needed in this "down" year).

Again, please reply to this thread if you can help out on Saturday morning.

Carl and I will help if you don't get enough volunteers otherwise.

Don't forget there'll need to be 1 or more folks who can set up an event and enter folks into AXWare, fix it if it gets dorked up so that we don't hold up the event over and over, and then print some results. Carl says he can only operate it *minimally* and I know nothing about it.

I got AXWare covered. Do you have the computer Dustin?

Still Looking for a few more volunteers! Thanks to everybody who's signed up so far.

Update: I've pushed back the times a half hour or so to corrlate with the schedule I've received from the EV folks. Most folks won't need to be there until 9:30 on Saturday, so you still get to sleep in :)
