Forum access and 2008 membership renewals

One of the perks of THSCC membership is access to the forums, online Heel and Toe as well as the “passcode” used for early event registration. Only THSCC members should have access to these. Senior officers at their discretion may allow a few non members (Affiliated track program staff, NCAC representatives from other clubs, etc.) access as well. Also only club members can accumulate points toward end of year championships.

Club membership runs from January through December. We give 3-4 months of a grace period to give people a chance to renew. But after that grace period, I compare the forum membership against the official club membership list and then disable the forum accounts for members who have let their club membership expire.

So this is your notification that if you have not renewed, that in two weeks or so, your forum account is going to be deactivated. Deactivating an account is not the same as deleting it. Post history, etc. will still exist while an account is deactivated. If you renew after the deactivation, I can re-enable your account.

In addition to this notice, I will try to send out an email announcement to those who have not renewed. But consider this to be your primary warning as we are already well into 2008, and you have already have had plenty of time to renew!

If you know that you have just forgotten to renew, then use the form from the main THSCC web site to renew…

I am very embarrised that I haven't done this yet, but I finally found some time to compair forum membership with current club membership. This is based upon the June list. These people are going to loose forum access later today. I am going to send them emails as well as post a 2008 renewal tread on the visitors forum.

To have your forum membership access turned back on, please send in your 2008 dues. Once you have sent your renewal in, let me know and I can re-enable your forum account. To renew, use the link below to obtain the “THSCC membership form” form.

If feel that you have renewed for 2008 and that we have made a mistake, please reply to this email with information about how and when you renewed and I can look into this for you.

As always there are a few regulars on the list. Also, we usually end up with a few people who have paid, but didn't get updated on the membership list somehow. I would have been on the list myself if I had not paid up a few weeks ago as promised. :oops:

Some of the people on that list did renew and this is at least the 2nd year in a row that they get dinged. Not sure why.

You already disabled their account and they have no email. You might want to consider giving people a 1 week grace period. So it can be worked out of it is actually a club accounting problem.

You are right about me needing to give more notice, but I am swamped regarding forum admin stuff. That is why this is happening now (late July instead of March or April). I all I can do is say "sorry" if there is a screw up, but we will sort it out.

I did just send out an email to everyone who is on the list. A handful of people have bad email addresses listed (the person you IMed me about is one of those who have a bad email listed on the forum), so they may not find out until they try to logon. I have five people who say they have paid or that the check will be in the mail soon, but are not on the membership list. I have turned them back on.

I thought I had paid but have no check stub to prove it. Then again, I typically pay at the first event each year and use cash. Regardless, my payment went out in today's mail.
