The trailer lights weren't working on the way back from VA and they still aren't working. Could somebody who installed the wiring look at it this weekend, so I don't get pulled over on the way home Sunday?

I remember you said the brake lights did work, correct?

Dumb question, but were the van headlights on when you checked the trailer lights? If so, were the Van running lights illuminated?

Regardless, I'll try to look underneath, as I am the one that did the wiring. It could be as simple as a T-tap that has come unplugged.

Headlights on, van running lights not working either. Since it was pouring rain on the way back from Greenville & the lights are supposed to be on while running the wipers, I tried the hazard switch, and the lights all started flashing. So I just left them flashing until it stopped raining about halfway home.

So now I'm thinking that when Mitch and I heard that loud pop around the fuse box while installing the new AC compressor, it was the running light relay or whatever it is that controls them dying. I'll look at it today.

Also, the AC is dead again. I'll be giving Mitch a call to see when he can come finish what we started.

Well, that means it's not the trailer directly Unless of course the trailer has a short that is shorting out the van running lights too.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any chance to look at thigns at the event this weekend. I did get a chance to think about looking, but never to look

So the fuses are ok. Mitch looked at the wiring diagrams and the wiring, and thinks it's wherever the trailer wiring was spliced in - and we have no idea where that is. So hopefully Scott (or whoever is available that knows anything about it) can take a look at it soon.

When the switch to the left of the steering wheel is turned on, something clicks (relay?) in the dash. So obviously the switch is doing something. The dimmer function of that switch also works to dim and brighten the dash lights. The switch also turns on the headlights. The brake lights work. The signal lights work. The hazard flasher works. The running lights are the only part that doesn't work. Hope this helps.

Trailer lights are spliced into the wiring harness under the rear of the bus. Its all very close to the wiring plug for the trailer. Even so, if the van's *front* and rear running lights are out, then it isn't likely 100% trailer related. The wiring for the front lights isn't remotely close in proximity to the rear and trailer lights.

I'm still thinking a fuse, relay or bad switch.

Unplug the trailer wiring, and see if there are running lights for the van, if not, then it's likely not an issue with the trailer wiring.

Since the brake controller is spliced in at the front of the bus I was hoping that the the splice for the trailer running lights was also at the front and that the splice was broken. Since the splice is at the rear then I agree that it is not the trailer running lights splice.

The fuse is good and if the manual we have is correct there isn't a relay.

So it is either the switch or a connection very close to the switch.

I was going to test the switch but it is not easy to get to and I was afraid that I might break the dash panel trying to get at the switch.

If the switch is not bad then it must be a loose connection or broken wire. That's going to be hard to find since the manual does not have any diagrams of the locations of the physical wires, connectors or harnesses.
