Perhaps the better solution (as far as future NCAC discusions) would be to have a NCAC forum or bulletin board.

That makes sense to me. I expect that there will be a number of lessons learned from NCAC this year that I hope will be the foundation for a better NCAC in the future.

Adam and I have a standing offer to the powers that be to add a dedicated NCAC forum to AutocrossForum.com, complete with NCAC and host club logos if wanted. BTW - We offer forums to clubs for free so the same deal would be extended to NCAC.

if any a-hole was allowed to post or anonimously read, how would we as a club know which a-hole we agreed or disagreed with at any given momement? reputations are born and bred on our current forum set-up. we are what we type.

my question would be: are we (THSCC) given unilateral officer access to the various NC club forums in return for our generous access?

and given that we offer access, should we curb our opinions for fear of offending non-members? we don't offer that luxury to members. ( i only mention him because no one has in a while, B**** J***SON.)

seriusly, if you can't stand the heat, or more realistically the ridicule, stay off the forums. steve.

We are the only club of the four major ones that requires membership to access our forums.

so we come by it honest then. eliteist behavior i mean.

i see no reason to change our current format. dues paying members with nothing in common other than a shared hobby. i pay dues to other clubs so i can run in their track events. but quite frankly, i don't have the time or the energy to get wrapped up in their mini dramas. although i doubt the drama is quite so entertaining elsewhere. but then again i hear the Honda guys get fired up every now and again.

thing is if the meetings keep heading west, we might as well invite triad to share the tab. hell, morrisville was a haul for me, but RTP is a road trip. my hat is off to the likes of Ryan & Vincent, and others that make the trek.

and really, do we care what other clubs feel about us as long as they fear us? not me specifically; as well, i suck at autox. but i am an a-hole with an opinion. and i pay my dues to keep it that way.

Yet I know that some of the other clubs have hidden forums that are no open to the public...

Not sure which other club you are talking about. I have accounts on TSCC, CCR, and Highlands, and it doesn't appear as if there is any hidden section.

You don't see them because they are "hidden". ;)

Seriously I know next to nothing about this. But I was looking at the TSCC forum just the other day and saw a mention to a password protected area. I "think" it was for off-color humour that might offend those that stumble upon the area by accident (hence the password which I think is given out to those who ask??). That approach seems perfectly reasonable to me.

Overall, I think that each club probably has different goals with their forums and that is OK. This results in forums that look and operate differently.
