It is with deep regret that I write this letter today. As you well know, all the clubs in North Carolina have been planning the 2006 NCAC. We agreed that the Greensboro Collesum was a centrally located site that would allow a open, "nationals" type of course design. THSCC agreed to use this site for the greater good of the NCAC as a whole.

Earlier this week, we discovered that there is Beer Festival scheduled for Saturday in the building next to our event. This concerned the staff of THSCC greatly. With the help of Justin Barbry, we thought we had worked thru the hurdles of the two events taking place.

However, due to the litigious society that we live in, we the officers felt it necessary to consult our insurance agency (K&K) and verify coverage. K&K will NOT provide insurance for the event due to the proximity of the Beer Festival to our event. K&K was given a site map showing where each event was scheduled to be held, they still would not budge.

In light of this, the 2006 NCAC will be moved to the Old Sanford Airport, the scheduled date will remain the same. Further details will be provided as we get them ironed out.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to drop me an email president@thscc.com

I can understand their concern. At least we are able to fall back on the Sanford site. Hopefully we can still get a large group of non-THSCC members to show up.

The good thing is that people seem to be truly embracing this decision and publicly giving kudos to our administration for moving swiftly and confidently.

That's not how I would interpret threads on other clubs forums.

I think you may have missed the sarcasm in that statement.

Of course I still want to know how Karen is really involved in this in anyway.

Well... people will complain.... that is about all you can be sure of. I am sure when someone else hosts, there will be lots of complaining as well.

So where would one book a hotel room in or around Sanford?

There are several. Maybe we could get a discount.

I guess that would have been the better question: do we have anything set up in Sanford like we do in L'burg.

This appears to be a no-brainer. GOOD CALL!!!

No organization in their right mind would run an event without insurance coverage. The way Holton spends money, we don't need another drain on our check-book :)

I've stayed in the Hampton Inn in Sanford. It is about 10 minutes from the old airport and there are many resturants near by. Maybe we can get a special rate there.

We stay @ the Hampton Inn in Sanford. Right around the corner from the "Sagebrush", also very good Italian Restaurant right across the street. (With good service, for those who have endured the service at the Sagebrush!)
