With Kevin's new job it looks like the luxury of having our dedicated bus driver may be over. :( Kevin has really been doing us all a favor by doing this this year so we are greatful for his efforts so far.

So now we need someone to drive the bus to make it in time for setup on Friday afternoon. Around 3:00PM or so would be great.

As always, the bus driver gets a free room for his or her service to the club. In this case, two nights of free lodging. The caveat is you have to drive the bus back as well.

FYI, if no one steps up to drive the bus, there will be no Chick's School on Saturday. :(

If you can help with our problem please post here ASAP.

Vincent -

I just spoke with Charlie and he should be able to drive the bus on Friday. Just let me know to whom he should speak about the details (i.e., where to pick up, time, etc.)

Chick School must go on!

IMHO, that would also mean no autocross on Sunday.

Not necessairly. When you stipulate no men allowed...in a (I am guessing) 85% male club....you rule out 85% of your bus drivers (unless someone is dying to hang out in Danville with nothing to do all day). With the full membership participating Sunday....finding a bus driver is much easier. After last year...I know I ain't steppin' foot on site Saturday until course set up begins for Sunday....especially since all the men that showed up last year got blamed on me.

Come on, Stephen....I thought we had called a truce on last year!!

And give us a little credit...we are trying to change that ratio from 85% men/15%women to more like 75/25!! :P

At any rate, whoever is able to help with bus duty will have my undying appreciation not to mention the undying appreciation of a school full of soon-to-be butt kicking, autocrossing chicks!

We did settle it, but I won't make that mistake again. :D

However, I was just providing explanation as to why you don't have as many volunteers as a regular event. It isn't true to say that the regular event wouldn't/shouldn't happen the next day though. You can't expect people to volunteer to help when they can't participate...or even spectate. I'm sure you understand where I am coming from.

I certainly appreciate the efforts to escalate the female membership...the more the merrier. Maybe something to consider for future chick schools...let the guys come and shag cones for your "mini-autocross" in the afternoon. Then the ladies could get more runs and impress us with their new mad-tite skillz!!!!1.

Do I read this wrong, or is there some guy in THSCC complaining about an effort to get more chicks into the sport?!?!?!? Sheesh... why does HE want to be at the chick school anyway? ;)

Chris... you could always let him show and make him wear a skirt... I'll never forget Eric, Carl, and Scott in mini-skirts at the first chick's school.

Hope it goes well. It's such a great idea, and THSCC is lucky enough to have enough chicks to put it all together. They'd never be able to do that up here. I think there are < 10 female autocrosser's active up here. (And I think that's an overestimate. I haven't been this year though.)

After being the WC last year and VP this year....you realize the events don't run themselves. I would never turn away a volunteer...I don't care what they are wearing. I know this thread is all in fun...but seriously....use the resources you have available. That's all I am saying.

And as to why I would want to be there....if Judi is getting close to beating me....I need to know when I have to step up my game. Honestly though...it is cool to watch people learn...especially loved ones.

PS....VK...you can have your thread back now.

1) Nobody wants to see Steven in the Bud dress. Judi included.
2) Women can't drive :P a bus.
3) What's up with married dudes trying to keep women away from events?

 You brokeback a-holes. Why can't I quit you (and Miatas)?
