One of the perks of THSCC membership is access to the forums. Only THSCC members and a few special cases (Track program staff who may not be THSCC members, etc.) should have access to the forum.
Is this "audit" really necessary? This forum is a great way to stay in touch with old friends (for those of us who have moved from the Triangle). Does it make sense for someone who moved out of the state to pay yearly dues just to use the forums? I am not trying to be a jerk or anything, just curious.

Charlie,
My take on it is that club membership offers a number of things. Event registration discounts, event advanced registration, Season Points and Awards, Heel and Toe, Online Forum and maybe some others. Some people may take advantage of some more than others. Some people just Autocross or Rallycross and may never visit the forum. We have a few people who have moved out of state and participate in club events rarely if ever. However they still are paying members and participate in the forums for the social aspect of the club.
So unfortunately for you the club benefits are not offered ala cart. It is all or nothing. The forums does have a "Visitors" area that anyone can post in. If you want to give an occasional shout out to say "Hi", you can do that as a non-member. But to continue with full forum access, you do have to be a member. Yearly renewal isn't that much, but for someone in your position (who can only take advantage of a smaller set of the benefits), you would have to just determine if the benefits outweights the cost.
Hope to see you as a member in 2006!
Richard
