'Sexmen' is getting into the Visitors forum and replying to posts with porn links. I've notified Jason but suspect he's busy. Whose his back-up?

Hopefully, it's fixed now. FYI, I am the backup now. Richard Casto is the person to contact in the future.

Well that was fun. Jason, any chance you can PM me that list? I lost the cached version and never made it past 'S'. :lol4:

I just happened to be on a few minutes ago and deleted posts and also edited any quotes that contained the links.

This is most likely automated spam that knows how to post via guest accounts on the forum software we use. Which is why you only see it in the "Vistor" forum as you don't need to register to post. Short of shuting down that public part of our forum, I don't know what we can do to stop this.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

That's what I did for now. Once the guests have disappeared from the recent visitors list, we can open it back up.

Isn't there a feature to require moderator approval of the postings in the guest forum?

I know that adds more work for the moderators, but on the other hand, we don't get that many legitimate visitor postings...

Just a thought.

Or is there a mod for phpBB to force you to have to enter the text from one of those images that's all blurry? You could force that each time a "visitor" wanted to post. Then bots can't do it, which is what's doing it...

This is what we need to look into.
